Azure excels in general appearance, being long and so level over the topline with a wide flat rump. She has a beautiful front end, and she freshened last spring with a gorgeous udder that is high and wide in the rear, smoothly extended in the fore, with near ideal teat size and placement. Her dam, Hailey, is an exceptional doe and Azure is already following in her footsteps!! Azure is our first Avalanche daughter to freshen and we could not be happier!
Although Azure was not shown as a kid, she sure made up for it last season. Azure was undefeated in the yearling class and also won the CDGA Yearling Futurity class with all breeds competing! We are really excited about her and our other Avalanche daughters!
Azure looks fantastic as a 2nd freshener, and does she ever have the will to milk! Azure, Bon Bon and Torie kept switching places in the 2 year old class all summer long! Azure was 1X 1st with 1st udder, and 1st place Dam and Daughter with Hailey at the District 6 Specialty Show in June. We absolutely love this doe and look forward to getting her back in the show ring next summer!
Azure has continued to mature beautifully. She has the longest level lactation in the herd, with her last test in December being 8.1. Now I have the difficult job of drying her off! Azure got her first GCH leg this season. She is a tremendous doe and has quickly become one of our favorites!
Azure had an amazing show season too, going 2X GCH, 2X BOB, 2X BDIS and 2X BUIS, easily finishing her championship! She is a beautiful doe with a gorgeous udder and does she milk! These Avalanche girls are amazing with their will to milk, and never missing a beat after kidding. They are hard working girls and we could not be happier with them.
Azure turned 6 in 2018 and continued to shine in the show ring, going 1X BOB and 4X BUIS! We can't say enough about this beautiful doe and are so happy to have 2 daughters retained in our herd.
Sadly Azure injured her left rear leg after kidding last spring, and recently has continued to get worse with it. We had to make the tough decision that even just keeping her not bred was too much for her once the weather gets cold, so we had to put her down. We are very sad to loose this beautiful doe, but she will live on in her 2 daughters in our herd.
